           FIRST TEAM

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Goalkeepers:

Andy Wynn - Goalkeeper

Andy Wynn

Student from Southampton. July 2007 arrival at Eastleigh from Andover FC. Has also played for Walton & Hersham, Chessington & Hook United and Eastbourne Borough.

Born 27th July 1986 in Sutton, Surrey.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Craig Lisher - Goalkeeper

A promising youth goalkeeper who is with the Academy at Eastleigh College and has made a couple of appearances for the reserves. A decent shot stopper. Played in goal for the 2nd team for the first time at the Silverlake Stadium against Sutton United reserves in early January 2008 and capped a solid performance between the sticks with a clean sheet.

Defenders:

Liam Winzar - Defender

Liam Winzar

Liam is a small but quick and tough full back. He was at Bournemouth during the 2005/6 season with the reserves and from his appearances so far at Eastleigh, it looks like he can be a really promising acquistion.

Winzar is no stranger to tackling and likes to get forward as well. His dad is involved with training the Under 16's.

Is just as comfortable as a right midfielder. Will deliver telling crosses all day long!

Made 30 starts for the 2nd team during 2006/7 with four goals to his name.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aaron Martin - Defender

Aaron Martin

Under 18's captain at just 16 years of age, now has been appointed captain of the 2nd XI.

Known as ‘Spud’, a confident young centre back that shows a talent beyond his years.

Has not only broken into the reserve side but commanded a regular slot in the heart of the defence. He is confident on the ball and his positional sense, marking and tackling are also Aaron's key attributes.

Due to physical presence, Aaron is extremely dominant in the air.

Aaron's progress has been phenomenal and recently marked a massive achievement by making the last 32 of the ESFA international trials. Aaron now has a weekend away at Lilleshaw for more trials on the 6th December.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tom Roberts - Defender

Tom Roberts

Joined the Spitfires at the back end of the 2006/7 season following his release from Portsmouth FC.

A steady performer. Despite his lack of height is a very useful centre half. Reads the game exceptionally well, good in the air and strong in the tackle.

Scored his first goal for the club in a cup win over BTC in September 2007.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jon Horner - Defender

Young and emerging right full back.

Progressed through the youth ranks with the club and started playing sporadically for the reserves under Wayne Mew and Ian Knight towards the end of last season.

Has come into his own recently to make the right back position his own for the second team in the 2007/8 season.

Very quick and is not afraid to get forward either.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jason Sangha - Defender

Jason Sangha

Promising defender who has come up through the youth ranks at Eastleigh. Is in the newly formed Academy and studies at Eastleigh College during the week.

A key member of the Under 18’s side but has recently begun to get involved in the second string.

Definitely one to watch for the future, still only 16.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Justin Hall - Defender

Justin Hall

Justin has emerged on the scene of 2nd team football with Eastleigh having excelled in the academy ranks. Made his first full start for the reserves team in December 2007 against Hayes and Yeading United.

Is progressing well and showed his credentials in the first home game in 2008 in the excellent 2-0 win over Sutton United keeping things solid at the back despite the Spitfires playing with ten men for the majority of the game. Brave, whole-hearted in the tackle, at his youthful age will only get better.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Niall Bryant - Defender

Niall Bryant

Niall, like Justin, is part of the youth setup with the academy boys at Eastleigh College and has done well to become involved with the reserves squad this year.

Though not a regular at present, Niall could be set for a big future should he continue to show the signs he already has done.

Midfielders:

James Screen - Midfielder

James Screen

James is a superb left sided player that has previously been with Portsmouth academy and AFC Bournemouth where he played both Under 18 and Reserve team football. 'Screener' has good balance, pace and an excellent left peg.

Was brought to the club early in the 2006/07 season. Scored his first goal for the club in a 7-1 cup win over Hemel Hempstead back in September 2006.

Has since gone on to prove his worth and has now established himself as the first choice left back under Brian and Adie.

A solid performer.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TJ McClory-Cuthbertson - Midfielder

TJ McClory-Cuthbertson

Eastleigh moved swiftly to snap up TJ following his release from Portsmouth FC. Made his first appearance for the Spitfires back in March and has progressed from there to become an integral part of the 2nd team.

TJ has fantastic technical ability, can pick a pass from anywhere on the football field and has a stinging shot to boot.

Winchester City FC moved in to take the highly rated youngster on loan at the beginning of the 2007/8 season, however it wasn’t long before the midfielder was back playing for Eastleigh again.

Suffered ligament damage following a horrendous tackle in the September cup game with BTC but has since recovered and been a pivotal figure in the midfield.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aiden Sainsbury - Midfielder

Aiden Sainsbury

Hardworking, tireless midfielder. Aiden is a new recruit for the 2007/8 season following his release from Kevin Bond's AFC Bournemouth in May.

Has been a regular choice in the midfield for the second team.

Breaks up the play well but also likes to get forward whenever possible. Typically a box-to-box player who will get his fair share of goals along the way.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Adam Roberts (Taz) - Midfielder

Adam Roberts

Electric pace, quick feet and an unbelievable work rate to match his undoubted ability. His efforts have been rewarded with first team recognition. In the Cup Final against Fleet he was a dominant force on the right wing. Also won the competition with Winchester City in the 2004/2005 season.

Taz featured for the first team in 18 matches during the clubs first season in the Conference South.

In the 2005/2006 season, Roberts was a key player for the reserves also, as he scored 9 goals in 22 appearances playing mainly as a right sided midfield player.

Spent the majority of the 2006/7 season on loan to Andover.

Has been the most consistent performer back at the Silverlake Stadium as a second team regular for the 2007/8 campaign.

Scott Waters

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joe Maxwell - Striker

Joe Maxwell

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nathan Lynch - Striker

Nathan Lynch

One of the hottest properties that the second team has to boast. Nathan is a natural goalscorer and a great athlete.

Is fantastic in the air, winning more than his fair share of headers and is generally a real handful.

Has struck a good partnership with Zach in recent times. Between the two of them their goals will be crucial to a positive season.

Lynch came through the system at Eastleigh playing for the Under 18’s where he also scored for fun, before breaking into the second team in the 2006/7 season where he has remained ever since.

Most recently, Nathan scored a memorable hattrick in September 2007.
