21/06/2006 - EFC FOOTBALL IN THE COMMUNITY
Eastleigh Football Club launch their "Football In The Community Programme" by announcing their forthcoming Soccer Schools
to be held at the Silverlake Stadium.
The scheme will be headed up by Wayne Smith,
a former Football in the community manager at AFC Bournemouth and who also has vast experience from working at Saints in their
very successful community scheme.
Alongside Wayne will be none other than the Eastleigh captain Danny Smith. Danny played 24 games in the football
league for AFC Bournemouth before captaining Winchester City to their FA Vase victory. He is a very talented midfielder and
helped Eastleigh to a top ten finish in the Conference South last year with a total of eight goals. Like Wayne, Danny has
also been a community coach for Saints.
Spitfire’s manager, Paul Doswell said the following about the scheme,
"I was delighted when Wayne and Danny Smith agreed to join our Football In The Community Project!
Eastleigh Football Club has made massive strides in the last four years and involving youngsters and the local community more
in the Football Club can only be a great thing. We must spread the message that Eastleigh Football Club is a place to come to have fun and enjoy yourself."
As well as the Soccer Schools, Wayne and Danny have explained that they will be visiting local schools to take training
sessions.
